How to Build Traffic on Your Website?

BUILDING TRAFFIC FLOW TO UR WEBSITE

There are two types of links - Internal Links and External Links. Internal Links refer to the internal linking of web pages whereas External Links define the websites that are linking to your website.
Getting links from other websites is the most powerful tool to drive traffic to your website. The results are instantaneous and highly effective. Getting links from quality websites with higher PR and proper anchor text results in more organic traffic from search engines. Half the battle is won if you are able to provide the links in abundance.
There are many tools available for automatically building links to your website. There are some link exchange directories on the net which are a good support in link building campaigns. However, the use of these support systems depend entirely on your beliefs and strategies. Proper inter-linking of your web pages is also relevant and significant in driving traffic.

Networking face-to-face

When it comes down to it, it’s who you know. Affiliate marketer Zac Johnson flew to New York City to do an interview at the ABC Studios because of a relationship he started with Tory Johnson.
Zac met Tory at a Blog World Expo, and was able to spend some quality time with her at that conference. Zac got his foot in the door because he set aside the time and money to network face-to-face with influencers.

That gamble paid off when he got that call to do the interview with Tory. And it wasn’t a phone interview or she just needed to pick up a few quotes from him. He got the full treatment for the experience—make up, coaching from the producer—and five minutes in front of a national audience.Never underestimate the value of networking with people in person. And you don’t always have to drop a couple thousand and travel across the country to meet the right people. You could run into journalists at events like these:

  • Join a local Tweet-up.
  • Join your local Chamber of Commerce.
The idea is to experiment and carve time out of your schedule to network. And don’t forget to attend a journalist-focused events.

8 Things Designers Should Teach Their Clients

WEB--TEACHER

When starting as a designer, you might encounter some issues along the way, especially in the relationships you develop with your clients. This happens mainly because the clients quite often have the wrong  idea of what we actually do and think that “anybody can design a website”. In their opinion it is as easy as opening Photoshop and drawing something, then writing three lines of code and there you go, you have developed a website.
We all know the reality of is totally different, but until we explain this to our clients, they will not start understanding us and will not value our work any more than they currently do.The way of improving their opinion is trying to give teach them different lessons, either by telling them directly or by letting them understand through your collaboration. However, it is more likely to help if you do it before signing a contract, because your working relationship will change and will be clear to them from the beginning. This way you can set some expectations and they will better understand who they’re collaborating with.

How This “Web Design Thing” Works

Here you should tell them your complete process including parts that aren’t covered by your current contract. For instance, even if you weren’t contracted for SEO consulting, you should tell them where you’d put this, if they want to contract you or another person for doing so.
You should explain the big development blocks, and even break them up into smaller ones, like breaking up “development” into “Look, first I do HTML coding, then JS coding and then I add this to our CMS, so you’ll be able to add content only at this point.”
All those explanations are important so your client will know when he will have each part of this thing done, avoiding weird things like you doing everything in a hurry and then waiting weeks for content.

What Is DNS Propagation

It’s quite hard to understand why it takes even 2 days to have your site working just because you’ve moved your site from one server to another. And this headache is gracefully caused by our beloved DNS servers.
Actually it’s a little bit hard to understand (some people say that we don’t even have this DNS “propagation” thing, since it’s usually TTL caching issue). But let’s stick with a pretty simple explanation that works well for anyone with more than 2 neurons (sorry amoeboid and trolls):
Hosting servers on the internet actually don’t have a really cool name. For example, many of them have a “name” formed by 4 groups of digits, like 74.125.234.50. It’s even worse than “Rochester” isn’t it?
Look,  something like 74.125.234.50 isn’t that easy to remember, right? So, that’s why we have things called Domain Name Service servers.
They’re quite smart guys that can remember the “nice name” (google.com) for each “ugly name” (74.125.234.50). So, when you type google.com in your browser, your Internet Service Provider asks DNS “bro, where is this google.com guy is hidden?” and DNS answers “Oh, you meant 74.125.234.50 , right?”.
So far, so good. Now you need to know just one more little thing, since we have several DNS servers over the web, when you change your hosting from company #1  to company #2, each DNS server has to tell his brothers about this change. So while one DNS server thinks that mysite.com is still hosted on company #1, others know that it’s actually on company #2, so a few users won’t be able to see your site in the meantime, depending on the route that they get (which DNS server their ISP ask).

IE6 Isn’t A Real Browser (yet)

Maybe IE10 will be an awesome browser. But currently, IE is far behind the alternatives. So, try convincing your client to switch to a real browser.
But the important thing here is: Forget about IE6. Unless it’s really your target (and if it is, it’s really bad for you) IE6 is hardly same as Mobiles. IE7 is really bad also, and if you notice a down market share, forget about it too.
I’m not talking about doing things that don’t work on IE. I’m talking about doing things the right way, and don’t lose time trying to get same effect in old and outdated software, move on.

How to Design Your Blog for Awesome SEO

Did you know that building a beautifully-designed website can be just as important to search engine rankings as site architecture and knocking out high-quality content?
It’s true.
But what exactly should you pay attention to? To help you I’ve put together a list of ten elements for good blog design that are also proven to help your search engine rankings.

Keep the number of links on page under 100

While Google recommends that you keep links on a page under 100, this is not for search purposes but design and user experience purposes. In fact, Matt Cutts published a page with close to 200 links on it.
Why does Google recommend you limit the number of links to 100? It used to be that Google would only index up to 100 kilobytes of a page…that equaled to about 100 links. Now Google can easily index a page much larger than that.
So what happens if you decide to place more than 100 links on a page? Google might crawl you and look at you like a spammer.
However, what you do might be legitimate and having over a hundred links like Cutts can also work if it is justified. In that case, you will only pass on a limited amount of PageRank because there are tons of links on that page.
How the user experiences the page is more important these days than PageRank or pure SEO measures, so limiting 100 links to a page is a good idea.

Design your site for speed

Design your site for speed

Next, you’ll want to evaluate your site speed. It’s been shown that users who can search faster are happier. In fact, Google found out that slowing down search results by as little as 400 milliseconds will actuallyreduce the number of searches by over half a percent.
In the SEO realm, however, speed isn’t so much an important signal as the relevance of a page. But like most things online when it comes to speed, problems can accumulate…so you need to fix as many as you possibly can, speed being one of them.
How fast is your site? Use Google’s Page Speed tool. This is what I came up with when I tested Quick Sprout:The report, which takes less than five seconds to generate (may be more on larger sites), showed me recommendations that ranged from experimental to high priority. I don’t know about you, but I find that very helpful.
Click on the link “enable compression” and you get this page:

Web is not print

There is a general misconception out there that web and print are very similar. Well, they’re not and we know it, but how do we explain this to our clients that are mostly familiar with print? They might want a web site that looks like a brochure – while you don’t. It is important to take the time and explain to your clients that the web is very different from print (even though I think we can all agree that until you know the difference it’s easy to understand why people think they’re almost the same) and there are different rules. We just decided upon who is the expert, so why not show you are one and educate your clients? You don’t need to read them a whole design book, just explain some basic principles and provide examples – clients will be more than happy to accept you as the expert when you show them and act like you are one.

Burj Dubai is NO 1 World’s Tallest Buildings

The world is not stopping anywhere even though there are many barriers coming ahead of them which include terror attacks, natural calamities and so on , but all over the world the Race for the Tallest Building is still going on and there are many towers being built to take place of the Number #1 Position. Here is a list of 10 tallest buildings in the world based on multiple sources and this is because the measurement differs everywhere and the count of the Antenna Height on the top is not always considered which makes a high difference in the total height.
Burj Dubai – Dubai Tower – Dubai, United Arab Emirates
This is currently the Tallest Tower being built and scheduled to be completed in September 2009. The Construction of this tower began in 2004 September 21st with a target of exact 5 years for this skyscraper which seems to be a very big target considering the size of the project. The project is being implemented in Dubai in a 2Kms radius area on the name of Downtown Burj Dubai. The builders of the Burj Dubai project are Samsung Engineering & Construction and Besix with a total budget of 20 Billion USD by Emaar Properties. Residential & Commercial Properties are being sold at this huge tower in the range of 3500-4000$/sft.

Stop SPAM with Captcha on Contact Forms & Comments & Earn Money

OLD AND NEW RECAPTCHA

Here is an interesting service which i am going to suggest everyone who runs a website, blog or a community forum. This is applicable to all the services where in you get feedback from your readers through a form and using which Spammers also send you SPAM. This service is offered by Solve Media which offers you with a SPAM Protection service by showing CAPTCHA messages on your forms and in return allowing to earn money from the same. The concept is very simple whenever you find a CAPTCHA, either a combination of a few alphabets, numbers or some question, but what if the same is some catchy tag line of a brand which is sponsoring you to display the same?
SolveMedia makes the boring CAPTCHA into a TYPE-IN which is branded message(human authentication). Your readers would submit the messages the very same way but this time it’s not some unrelated words which can confuse too, but some brand names. You can always implement the Disqus commenting system on your blog or implement the WordPress antispam plugins. To get started you need to select the publishers option and then proceed with the Publishers option following which you can integrate the codes on your website in a few minutes. You get a challenge_key along with a JavaScript code which you need to embed on your website just before the Submit button. Once done you start earning money along with which you also have an option to donate all these earnings to charity. CAPTCHA is installed on a WordPress based blog. Around 450 times the comments form was submitted for which there was some revenue. This might be a very less revenue, but considering the fact that you are using this service to eradicate spam from your sites and still earning something out of it, this could be a good option. Probably a few dollars a month from this service can help you cover your web hosting bills and also ensure that your site is free from SPAM. You can also try out different ways of implementing this service on your forum, or jobs board listing or may be a classifieds site where there is a lot of user activity and where you can expect readers to submit forms.

How to Find any Blogs Actual Traffic Certified by Google Officially

Before you start reading this blog post for some kind of exclusive tool then you should take a step back because we are going to give you a small hint on a public service offered by Google which can help you in finding out any blog’s actual or real traffic easily. Stop checking out the tools like Alexa or Statcounter which can be faked using some third party tricks but the one offered by Google cannot be faked because its very hard to do that. The entire point of this article is that when you visit different blogs on the web, they would fake their stats claiming that they reach lakhs or millions of visitors every month but thats not entirely true.
The tool about which I have been talking about is the Google DoubleClick Ad Planner which offers you with some excellent insights as mentioned below. Lets take a example of Tech Crunch which is one of the best blogs on the web around Technology related content. Now if you visit their advertising page you would find that they claim to have around the following traffic : 1.12+ million unique visitors / month.   2.35+ million page views / month
Now how do you confirm these stats if they are right or atleast near to the exact estimates? You would either check out the Alexa Rank which can just give you a rank but no estimated stats, next option is to try out Quantcast which mentions that the owner has hidden the stats, followed by Check Website Stats which guesses the stats to be around millions of visitors every day, clearly showing that the stats are wrong followed by Compete.com which again reports that TechCrunch gets less than a million visitors because they report only US based traffic. When your search for finding actual traffic is not completed then its time to check out the Google Ad Planner as mentioned above. Link : Techcrunch.com Stats on Google Ad Planner
As u will know the comparison of what the blog is claiming and what Google Ad Planner, there isn’t much difference in both because the statistics are not linked with their Google Analytics account. In most cases the Ad Planner is linked to the respective Analytics Account of the blogs following which the stats would be almost exact to whats the real traffic the blog gets as recorded by Google Analytics.
Now i hope you can find out the difference between actual statistics and the fake stats claimed by bloggers in order to increase their followers or charge advertisers higher amounts. Hope this helps you, and feel free to respond back if you have any queries.best of luck.

How long a new website or blog wait before applying for AdSense?

A lot of publishers from India and other Asian countries are puzzled on whether they can use AdSense Ads on new sites or not. Recently Google disabled a massive number of AdSense accounts from India and Pakistan which adds more to the confusion. To make it worse, Google does not mention anything in their policies for India about the minimum age requirement for blogs and websites to use AdSense Ads on the websites.

Finally here are a few useful suggestions – First read the Google Adsense FAQ, followed by Filtering AdsChanging Ad Colors Automatically & then reading Serious Adsense PPC Tips, and regular SEO work which can Increase your Adsense Revenue.

SHOULD WE WAIT FOR 6 MONTHS FOR ADSENSE FOR WEBSITES&BLOGS?

Google does not talk about the 6-months requirement anywhere in the policies. However, one of the help topics vaguely mention that publishers from India and China,Pak,BANGLADESH, should wait for 6-months before they can apply [or, use ?] AdSense. There is no definite answer on which countries fall under this category. There is strong demand from top AdSense community to enforce this rule for all countries, which make perfect sense. No website can earn much traffic before it reach 6-months life in the web and the AdSense is not going to bring any reward for them in the site without traffic. So, why can’t webmasters wait for 6 months? Also, strictly enforcing the 6 months requirement will turn away a huge number of fraud applicants. Of course this will affect few big publishers who start new business, change DOMAIN NAME etc, but they always have the option to reach their AdSense account managers and get special approval. Google is not very clear on whether existing AdSense accounts can be used on new sites. I have used my AdSense on my new sites without knowing the new requirement but did not have any problems, but my friends have lost their AdSense accounts for doing the same. So, if you create a new site, just wait patiently for 6 months before you use AdSense there. After having burnt my fingers, I usually wait until my new site reach 6 months + minimum 1000 page views per day before I use my AdSense account on it.Be patience work hard with nice content/artical so that blog/website have to reach heavy traffic.            ALL THE BEST FOR UR SUCESS

Create Google+ Pages Badge for your Website & Blogs

Now since the Google +1 for Business has been announced, every brand, celebrity or blog have started creating a Page for their business and the next step would be to get more people add your page into others circles.
For this here am going to give you a useful way following which you can easily add a small widget on your blog’s sidebar or any place where in your readers can easily mouse over the same and add to their circles. This is something which is not directly available to the public as its listed under the Google+ Platform for developers.
To get started you need to visit this link and then enter your Page ID which is generally a long numeric format ID as shown below. Generally a URL is in this format. You need to copy the bold part from the URL and insert into the Widget Generator and then click on the Style you would like to show on your site.On selecting the right widget you would get an option to select the type of code you would like to embed, its suggested to go for the HTML5 valid syntax option. Next place the code which is given to you at the end of the page onto your blog where ever you would like to display this live widget and get more people add your page to their circles or in short follow you. You also get an option to just show Icons instead of badges which can be selected based on your requirements.

HOW MANY MONTHS WAITING FOR APPLYING ADSENSE FOR BLOG

Future For Blogging

This is actually a question which is generally asked by parents to most of the upcoming blogger’s when they announce that they would be a full time blogger. We as a blogger work as a proprietor and don’t work for someone, because of which we don’t get any retirement benefits nor any fixed salary, hence the profession of blogging is quite risky and if after a few months of implementation you still don’t find good results, its better to leave this profession rather than wasting your time on it. Blogging is for people who have a passion for writing stuff and getting paid for the same, which not only requires time but also dedication & research. Hence you cannot work full-time with some company, blog casually once in a while and expect big results. The profession of blogging is going to be a hit as long as the media industry is alive and this is never going to end.

After a few years of blogging you will have many professional contacts who can be helpful to you in case you want to switch your career. Also the profession would give you better Brand name, Respect in the industry, Business ideas, Practical knowledge and lot more. If you compare the returns from blogging it’s normally 5 to 10 times more that what you would have earned in your full-time job, hence you can quickly retire with loads of money instead of other Offline jobs which give you just a limited amount of money. Don’t forget in my view Blogging is more better then an any Degree, whats your take? ALL THE BEST FOR UR SUCCESS
